Appendage & Bough offers visitors the photography of Jenny Ashley.  Jenny Ashley's fine art photography in "Well-Lit" features new images from her on-going series #thelampshadeproject. Ashley, a resident of the Central Coast for over thirty years, commented, "The images conjure a strange world, a movie set, a dream, but I think they suggest something closer to reality than we'd like to admit." As not only a photographer but also a lecturer in the English Department at Cal Poly, Ashley believes in the power of visual arguments. "I hope this series pushes viewers to consider objectification and the silencing of the female voice, but I know there are several ways to interpret them." Earlier this year, Ashley's work was on display at Studio 2G in downtown San Luis Obispo, and is currently showcased in two group shows, one curated by Neal Breton at Tigerlily Salon, and another curated by Leslie Hannon called "Women's Work" at 959 Higuera for The Phantom Project.
