ADRIANA LEMUS' work ranges from abstract to realistic pieces inspired by the figure. Lemus works primarily in ceramic sculpture and painting. She is working on a series of ceramic paintings using underglaze and glaze to paint figures inspired by "selfies" taken by friends and collectors of her work.

This project is meant to celebrate women's bodies and to illustrate that each and every body is beautiful. Adriana Lemus has been drawing and sketching nude models for over three years and came to value the beauty in the various shapes, sizes, and dimensions. Her vision is that every woman will come to appreciate and love her own body. She continues to receive daily requests from women to draw or paint their "Selfies." Lemus' hope is that we move away from an unrealistic media ideal of women's bodies and move toward embracing the body that we have been blessed with.

Even though Lemus has been creating art since childhood, it now seems as though the practice of yoga is somehow spiritually connected to her practice of art. The interwoven attributes of the two are inseparable and cannot exist apart or alone.

Extensions of this work are ceramic cups that connect with the soul. This is done through the sense tactile touch or contact with the beauty of sculptured relief of the human form, texture, design and color. Lemus' passion and drive is to understand the connection and effect of her art with the soul of the observer. Lemus is developing a body of work to apply to grad school and receive her Masters in Fine Arts.

Born in San Luis Obispo, CA, Lemus was raised by artistic parents. Her father’s work has been a huge inspiration for her own work. She graduated May of 2015 with a B.A. at the University of California, Berkeley. Lemus has shown her work in San Luis Obispo, Oakland, and multiple times at the Worth Ryder Art Gallery at UC Berkeley.

Currently, Lemus teaches at Art Bar in San Luis Obispo. Lemus has taught painting classes at Cal Poly and art to children in the Bay Area and in San Luis Obispo for the past three years.
