Open Studios 2009 draws 200+ artists!
ARTS Obispo's Open Studios Art Tour is one of the largest Open Studios in the U.S., with over 200 artists participating annually. Now in its 11th
year, Open Studios showcases the quality and diversity of art produced in SLO County. Visitors can see and purchase a wide range of original work by
local artists who appreciate the opportunity to share how, why and where their art is created. This event is not only a showcase for artists and a
feast for collectors, but ARTS Obispos largest annual fundraiser. The funds from Open Studios support ARTS Obispo's community-based programs such
as Arts in Education, Art in Public Places, and Art After Dark, supporting arts and culture in San Luis Obispo County.
The Open Studios Art Tour features a full-color catalog that serves as a ticket to the event. The $25 tickets will go on sale in mid-August at
locations throughout SLO County and will also be available for purchase here on our website. A gala opening reception and exhibition featuring a
projection of images of work by each artist on the Tour will take place in ARTS Space Obispo in the SLO Creamery in October. Artwork from each Open
Studios artist is also available for viewing on the Online Visual Artists Directory. See below for all
participating Galleries. If you are participating as an "Artist" in the 2009 Open Studios Art Tour, you are eligible to participate in the Directory.
