Welcome to Open Studios Art Tour 2008, our 10th Anniversary Tour! We want to thank you for making the 10th anniversary tour
the biggest yet!

FAQ & TIMELINE
What's new this year for the Open Studios Art Tour?
The most obvious change is the addition of a third weekend. The Tour will have the traditional North and South County
weekends, then close with an optional third weekend, county wide. Almost 200 artists will be participating in the Encore Weekend!
Out of towners and those who have trouble seeing all the artists they want to will be delighted to have an extra opportunity to keep exploring.
We are also expanding & revising our new Online Visual Artist's Directory to accommodate the large number of participants. Expect to see the new
additions arriving in June! This year, for the first time, all Open Studios artists will be included on the directory for one year. For many artists,
this is their only web presence. For others, it's a great opportunity to increase their visibility. For tour visitors, it's an amazing way to see
more than just a catalog thumbnail in deciding which studios to visit, and a way to stay in touch with you long after the tour has come and gone.
Imagine how amazing it will be to have over 300 names and 1000 images to help promote art in San Luis Obispo County, ARTS Obispo, and the Tour!
June 23 - June 27 – Catalog available for proofing
The first draft of the catalog will be available to proof at the ARTS Obispo office from 10am – 4 pm. This is your
opportunity to preview your information in the catalog and make sure the placement on the map is accurate. It is your responsibility to ensure
that this information is correct.
August 5 & 6 – Open Studios Marketing Workshop with Lynn Kishiyama
There will be two workshops at ARTS Space Obispo in the SLO Creamery on August 5th from 11am – 12:30 and 5pm – 6:30 pm.
A third workshop will be held for North County residents on August 6 from 5pm – 6:30pm at the Atascadero Library, Martin Polin room. Call ARTS Obispo’s
office (544-9251) to sign-up for these free workshops.
Late August
OSAT artist’s marketing materials and catalogs available for pick up from ARTS Obispo’s office. Monday-Friday, 10am – 4 pm.
October 3 – Preview Exhibition
This show opens at ARTS Space Obispo during Art After Dark (6-9 pm). Digital images of work from participating artists will be
projected in ARTS Space Obispo during this exhibition.
October 11 & 12 –North County Open Studios Art Tour, 10am to 5pm
October 18 & 19 –South County Open Studios Art Tour, 10am to 5pm
October 25 & 26 – Countywide Encore Weekend, 10am-5pm
Optional 3rd weekend includes OSAT artists throughout San Luis Obispo County who have signed up to keep their studios open for an additional encore weekend.
