Before and After - Bobbye West-Thompson

Often when painting en plein air, and working outside with limited materials, I sometimes over estimate the size of my subject and/or create an image that needs work of some kind.  Here is an example of how cropping can enhance the design and overall appeal.  The "Before and After"  images of an old grape vine painted recently at a local winery, shows how cropping can change and improve my artwork.  I also added just a hint of color to the background to tie everything together.

Bobbye will have her Los Osos studio (#141) open to visitors the first weekend of the Open Studios Art Tour, October 8 & 9.
